Account Registration
When you create an InvestPNG portal account, we collect:
- Full name and email address
- Organisation name (optional)
- Account type (Investor or Ecosystem Partner)
- Password (stored in hashed form only)
Profile Information
Depending on your account type, you may provide:
- Investment preferences and sector interests
- Geographic focus areas
- Organisation description and capabilities
- Supporting documentation (uploaded as PDF)
Platform Activity
We collect data about your use of the platform, including:
- Investment brief requests and deal room access requests
- Opportunities saved to your watchlist
- Pages viewed and features used
- IP address, browser type, and device information
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
- Platform access — to authenticate your account and provide personalised access to investment briefs, opportunity data, and portal features.
- Opportunity matching — to recommend opportunities that align with your stated investment preferences or capability profile.
- Communications — to respond to enquiries, send brief request confirmations, and deliver platform updates relevant to your account.
- Platform improvement — to analyse usage patterns and improve platform functionality, content, and user experience.
- Compliance — to meet legal, regulatory, and reporting obligations applicable to InvestPNG's operations.
4. Information Sharing
InvestPNG does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We may share limited information in the following circumstances:
- Papua New Guinea government partners — aggregated, anonymised data may be shared with PNG government agencies involved in investment promotion. No personal information is disclosed without consent.
- Verified deal counterparties — if you request access to a deal room or submit a brief request, your name, organisation, and contact information may be shared with the relevant opportunity sponsor solely to facilitate the investment process. This occurs only on your explicit request.
- Service providers — we use third-party services for hosting, email delivery, and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to maintain confidentiality.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information where required by Papua New Guinea law, court order, or regulatory authority.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, regulatory, or audit purposes.
Platform activity logs are retained for up to 24 months for analytics and security purposes, after which they are anonymised or deleted.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Portability — request your data in a structured, commonly used format.

7. Cookies
InvestPNG uses cookies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyse platform usage. We use:
- Essential cookies — required for authentication and core platform functionality. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand how the platform is used and identify areas for improvement. These do not contain personal information.
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels from third-party advertising networks.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted storage of credentials, HTTPS-only access, rate limiting on authentication endpoints, and regular security reviews.
No system is completely secure. If you become aware of any security vulnerability or suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at privacy@investpng.com.
9. International Users
InvestPNG is operated from Papua New Guinea and your data is processed in accordance with PNG law. If you access the platform from outside Papua New Guinea, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and stored in PNG.
Where your home jurisdiction grants additional data protection rights (including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation or similar frameworks), we will honour those rights to the extent practicable.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or by email to registered users. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
